Technical Appendix - Bollards

BOLLARDS :
Functions and expressions...

The GHM bollard and post collections offer a wide choice of applications and styles. Each object is a specific solution to a city organisation issue: separating traffic flows, protecting pedestrian areas, marking transit lanes, luminous marking, path lighting, etc. To make this solution even more specific, some models can be retractable or removable, or the breakage can be controlled; lighting bollards and light columns can be found in a separate section. A specific section covers anti ram raid bollards.
Beyond its purpose, each model has its own identity: GHM solutions cater for the functional approaches through to decorative interpretations, positioning their relevance in the environment, providing the function and gaining its acceptance.

Finishes and colours

Techniques

The variety of solutions is also the result of the industrial techniques used: foundry, sheet metal work, STRIUM shaping technique, machining, etc.

Options

A customised emblem can be applied to certain GHM bollards.

The materials

coulée

Cast iron, a material that is noble and durable, contributes its strength to the aggression and shocks of city life, but is also flexible to the interpretations of the most creative designers.  Other products use steel, stainless steel (see the specific section) or combinations of materials such as aluminium and bronze.

Installation

Several fixing alternatives are available depending on the type of installation, either embedded on on a finished ground surface.
